BACKSTORY
For the past several years I have spent summers painting in France in the Village of La Charité-sur-Loire on the Loire River.
Set in the middle of wine country there are beautiful vistas and gardens everywhere you look. This was painted from my
friend Marie-Thérèse’s garden. It is lush and has a wild abandon to it. Pear, Quince and Cherry trees, old fashioned roses
cover the sides of the house, wild orchids bloom throughout the grasses in spring, wild thyme and mint grow between the
centuries old stone walkways that release their fragrance as you walk by. It is truly a feast for the eyes and senses.
