Custom Commissions
Creating a large contemporary painting has its delights and challenges. Hours of work go into the process of building up the many layers of paint. Sometimes a painting can take many months to make and during that process they develop a character of their own. The minimum lead time on a commission is 2 - 3 months depending on the size and subject matter.
My aim is to create something that lifts the viewers spirits and provides peace and tranquility. My style is constantly changing as I keep discovering new paints and techniques as I explore the limitless possibilities of colour on canvas. I love to work with natural pigment paints and love the jewel colours that come from these, enabling an incredible relationship between nature and the painting. I often incorporate gold or silver leaf in my pieces. There is an immediacy to my work and a direct and absorbing relationship with each piece that can be really exciting.

A non refundable 75% deposit is required before any works are undertaken.
I work ‘in the style of’ existing paintings from my collections and within a colour scheme but each commission would be a totally unique piece of art created especially for the client. I do not recreate existing pieces exactly but use them for a jumping off point. Once I have accepted a brief I work independently until completion.
